WEB Where Everybody Belongs

7th grade students are matched with an upperclassman, to help them get to know

school and to participate in designated activities

Western Day Students enjoy Western food and entertainment at lunch in October

Leadership Two 7th graders are elected President and Secretary/ Treasurer of their class and join Student Council

class. An Inner Council of 12-20 additional students will be appointed to responsibilities include planning

class activities, fundraisers, publicity for events, etc.

Talent Show All Whitney students are invited to audition for our annual Talent Show. Try-outs are in January.

Plays All students can audition for the fall play and spring musical. In addition we also have

"Bottom Locker Productions" which feature 7th, 8th, and 9th grade performers who are directed by 10th,

11th, and 12th grade students. Auditions will be in April and the performance is at CPE in June.

Student Showcase Once each quarter we hold a student showcase at lunch in the quad, and any sutdent may sign up to

perform. Talent can be singing, dancing, playing an instrument, acting, etc.

International Day In May, all students are encouraged to dress in cultural clothing and participate in cultural

performances in addition to enjoying foods from all over the world.

Washington D.C. Our 8th grade students take a trip to Washington D.C. during spring break. The first planning

meeting is usually in June of the 7th grade year.

8th Grade Social In May of the 8th grade year, the students have a special "end of the middle school" dance just for their

class.

Class Sports Competitions One week each quarter, each grade level will challenge all of the other grades in crossfire,

volleyball, basketball, etc during lunch.

Homecoming We have our traditional homecoming basketball game during January where we crown our homecoming

queen and have class wall decorating contests.

Class Activities The class officers and inner council plan class activities such as Skate Depot Night, movie nights,

picnics, beach trips, etc.
